incumbent UN-accomplishments

the Current Delegation

Steven Arentz, R, Queen Anne's County

Jay Jacobs, R, Kent County

Jefferson Grist, R, Caroline County

No Current Cecil County Delegate

How do the incumbents measure up?

Voted AGAINST Lowering Utility Costs

Delegates Arentz (R, Queen Anne's) and Jacobs (R, Kent) voted Against The Utility RELIEF Act (HB 1532/SB 841) to reduce Marylanders' electricity bills.

Voted AGAINST Consumers to Allow Predatory Business Practices

All three incumbents voted against The Protection from Predatory Pricing Act (HB 895/SB 387) that bars businesses from using personal data/algorithms to charge shoppers different prices for the same goods.

Voted AGAINST Affordable Housing for Teachers

Delegates Arentz (R, Queen Anne's) and Jacobs (R, Kent) voted against The Educator Housing Access Act (HB 168/Chapter 678 ) to give educators access to certain affordable housing programs.

Voted AGAINST Rural Investment

Although our State Senator Stephen Hershey (R), as well as multiple Republicans, voted for the DECADE Act (HB 898/SB 388), all three incumbent delegates voted against it.  Prior to this Act, The Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority required local governments to pay a 10% matching contribution to obtain State Funding for Economic Development Projects.  It was near impossible for rural, lower-tax-base counties like Caroline, Kent, Cecil, and Queen Anne's to access State funds.  The DECADE Act removes the 10% match, allowing District 36 counties to obtain State Funding for Economic Development Projects.

Voted AGAINST Fair Wages

All three Delegates voted against The Fair Wage Act of 2023 (HB 549/SB 555).

Do the incumbents vote the interests of the people of District 36?

How important are these issues to the people of District 36?

Aren't there bigger problems to solve in District 36?
